Team Effectiveness

- Ensure that the meetings were useful content

- Avoid keeping the meetings if they are useless.

- Can a one-on-one conversation accomplish what you need?

- Make timely meetings

- Take them immediately upon receipt of important information

- Hold meetings as small as practical

- Select only those participants who are directly involved and able to effectively deal with agenda items

- Be realistic to meet length - One hour max is a good indication

- Inform participants in advance about the purpose, agenda, and objectives so you can come prepared

- Meetings open with a positive

- Short-term wins and milestone completions

- Introduce members if there are some new faces

- Hold meetings in perspective

- Stick to the agenda, to join the program

- Summarize the end

- Ensure that all action items have a name and an expiration date

- Be open to change

- Maintain a positive attitude

- Never leave unspoken disagreements

- We are not interested in assigning blame - only in the creation of solutions!

- Mutual respect Practice

- Treat others as you want to treat.

- One person, one vote - no matter the position

- The only stupid questions are those not placed

- Have fun!

- Understand the process, and ... JUST DO IT!

What are the critical skills necessary?

Are the critical skills adequately represented on the team?

What is the time commitment of team members?

What functions or skills are required (identify specific individuals, as necessary or possible)?

What percentage of their time is necessary?

Too many members of the team is restrictive and might also be early indicator of scope issue

It should also include the necessary capital resources -
